Educational Qualification:

Administrative Officers (Scale I):

Generalist Officers: Graduate/Post Graduate in any stream from a recognised University with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examination (at least 55% for SC/ST) candidates.

Hindi (Rajbhasha) Officers:

  • Master’s Degree from a recognised University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of  examination at the degree level with 60% marks (for SC/ST 55% marks) OR
  • Master’s Degree from a recognised University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level with 60% marks (for SC/ST 55% marks) OR
  • Master’s Degree from a recognised University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level with 60% marks (for SC/ST 55% marks) OR
  • Master’s Degree from a recognised University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, with 60% marks (for SC/ST 55% marks) OR

Salary Details: Rs. 50,925/- to 96,765/-

Age Limit (As on 30 November 2025):

  • Minimum Age: 21 years & Maximum Age: 30 years i.e. a candidate must have been born not earlier than 1st Dec, 1995 and not later than 30.11.2004 (both dates inclusive).

Age Relaxation:

  • Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe: 05 years
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC – Non creamy layer): 03 years
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities as defined under “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016”: 10 years
  • Ex-Servicemen, Commissioned Officers, including Emergency Commissioned Officers (ECOs)/ Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) who have rendered at least 5 years of military service as on 30.11.2025 and have been released: 05 years
  • Defence service personnel disabled in operation during the hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof: 03 years
  • Widows, Divorced women and women legally separated from their Husbands, who have not remarried: 09 years
  • Existing Confirmed Employees of the Public Sector General Insurance Companies (including GIC & Agriculture Insurance Company of India Ltd.): 08 years

Selection Process of Oriental Insurance Careers:

  • The selection process will be based on
    • Phase-l: Preliminary Examination
    • Phase – II: Main Examination
    • Phase – III: Interview

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination (Applicable for both Generalist and Hindi Officer):

  • Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online.
  • This would consist of 3 sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows:

Descriptive Test:

  • The descriptive Test of 30 Minutes duration with 30 marks will be a Test of English Language (Essay – 20 marks & Précis – 10).
  • The descriptive test will be in English and will be conducted through online mode.
  • Candidates will be required to obtain a minimum score for each section separately of the objective test for short listing for the Descriptive Test evaluation, i.e., the descriptive answer script would be evaluated only in respect of those candidates who qualify the objective test
  • Candidates will be shortlisted for Interview on the basis of overall marks scored in Main Examination after evaluation as above.

Applicable for Hindi Officers only:

  • Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and a Descriptive Test for 50 marks.

  • The descriptive test will be in English and/or Hindi and will be conducted through online mode.
  • Questions will be displayed on the screen of the computer

Phase-III: Interview:

  • Candidates who have been shortlisted at the end of Phase-II will subsequently be called for an interview to be conducted by the Company, up to three times the number of vacancies of the respective stream/category.
  • An interview will be conducted at select centres. The weightage (ratio) of online Examination and Interview will be 80:20 respectively.
  • The centre, address of the venue, time & date of the Interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter.
  • Candidates are required to download their interview call letters from the company’s website.

Final selection:

  • Final selection would be based on consolidated marks of the main examination (objective test) & Interview.
  • The final merit list shall be prepared in descending order of the consolidated marks secured by the candidates.

  • SC/ST/PWD: Rs. 250/- (Inclusive GST) (Intimation Charges only)
  • All Candidates other than SC/ST/PWD: Rs. 1000/- (Inclusive GST) (Application fee including Intimation Charges)
